To my precious child

To my precious child,

I wish you could know how much I loved you from the second I knew you were conceived.  I would dream every night about who you will become and count down the days towards meeting you.  As I watch you grow into your own unique person with Mummy and Daddy's features, I can't help but hope that you will leave an amazing mark on the world.  Whether it's throughout the nations or simply through the next generations, I only hope it's with the best intentions.  There's a few things I want you to remember.... 

You were born to leave a purposeful mark not just an indent on a couch.

Treat others how you want to be treated.

Learn from your mistakes rather than dwell on them.

Mind your manners….. and don't be afraid to remind someone who has forgotten to use them.

Model your values rather than just talk about them.

True love is closer to your door step than you think.

Follow your dreams…. and know it's ok to cry if the journey is full of hardship.

Forgive…. even if they have hurt you…. bitterness just rots your soul.

Despite how much make up you wear, or how pretty your outfit is…. you'll always be more beautiful to those who matter the most without it.

Don't worry about what everyone else is doing….. they're too busy worrying about themselves to worry about you.

Don't sweat when plan A didn't work…. after all there are plenty more letters....'Rome wasn't built in a day'... etc

Stop stressing about what you don't have and just enjoy the beauty of what you DO have.

Material happiness will never measure up to what the heart, mind and soul have to offer.

Protect your heart and save it for someone that will nurture it as much as you do.

Treat your future spouse like treasure.... it will do your heart good.

Smile and laugh every chance you get.... but know when to be serious.

Think before you speak and be prepared for the consequences of saying something inappropriate.

Never take people for granted..... some of them need you as much as you need them so be respectful.

Look after and love yourself..... it brings a happy inner heart outward.

Sometimes it pays to just be quiet and listen.

Accept that you can't control everything, but you have the power to control how it affects you. 

Treasure every day because only God knows how many more precious days you'll receive.

Most importantly, remember that I love you more than words could ever express and I hope that you create the most amazing life for yourself and those closest to you possible.
